How to Grow / Mature as Christian? As a Christian you may ask, how can I grow? You may start acting through the suggestion below.
Pray Always
“Pray always.” (1 Thes. 5,17) – We need to pray to increase our faith; the essence of Christianity is having a relationship with the Lord. In every relation, continued communication will always lead to a very good relationship. Always commune with God, talk to Him through prayer.
Learn the Words of God.
Like plants, Christian needs water. Water is the words of God that we could hear from Preaching, Bible Study and Fellowship with fellow Christians. We need the words of God in order to grow. If any of you lack wisdom in understanding the words of God. You should ask God.
James 1:5 – 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
Obey the Lord
Christians need to know how to surrender everything, and obedience is the key on how to start surrendering everything. When I say everything, it means all, no reservations. It includes time and financial matters.
1 Samuel 15:22 – But Samuel replied: “Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of the LORD? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.
Be a Giver
Will there be a tree without a seed planted in the soil? Believe that everything is from the Lord. You are only a stewards of those earthly things. Support your ministry by giving what is due to the Lord’s Ministry. Give your tithes to support the Ministry of the Lord, here on Earth. But always remember, be a cheerful giver, for it is useless to give if you are not happy for what you are doing. 2 Corinthians 9:7 – Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. For God loves a cheerful giver.
Don’t think that Christianity only means money, money is being used to support God’s ministry. Aside from financial, God needs your availability and talent for his Kingdom. You need to provide your time for the Lord.

Being mature as Christian is a progress in ones journey and realising the truth about Christianity, and realising that God wants us to be emotionally strong this is a by-product of character development which is part of the Christian journey ..maturity comes by going through what I called the baptism of fire..( tough situations in life) for example where is God in all my suffering, why is their so much pain in my life….. ..

Yep, these are all important things we Christians need to do. I’m particularly guilty on forgetting the “pray always” part.
We get so caught up with our own lives we forget the Divine ruler Himself

Not just in Praying and in Giving can be a Christian grow, in my personal experience. Ive learn to trust, wait and believe in everything,
Eclesiastes 3:1
“Everything has its own time, and there is a specific time for every activity under heaven”
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
that God want me to do in His will, everything Has is own time, and its own time need to be in His time. To make sure that everything was perfectly for us.
That for all who seek ye 1st thy kingdom of God all things that they needed, shall be added unto them..

I really like this post “How to Grow / Mature as Christian”. I needed to hear this more, so I have heard it again this day. On giving, you are right “not under compulsion or grudgingly”. It is amazing how some prosperity preachers “coarse” people into giving, I don’t think it is right for them to do but they should just encourage and make people see the need (if there is any) not “force” people to give. As you said and found in 2Cor. 9 v. 7. Thank you.
