I am just wondering, why do workers of Christ “Burn Out“ ? It is probable that the objective is wrong. Deacons, Elders, Asst Pastors, Pastors, Members, we are all humans. Humans have limits and human could also be tired at some time.
What should be the objective of a Christian Worker ?
Christian worker should always remember that we need to give it all to our Father and let the Holy Spirit teach us on what to do. If we keep on meeting our church objectives and forgetting about our own spiritual life, we might be leading to a path of “Churchunity” and not “Christianity”.
Leaders always think about what is good for the flocks. But it is sad to know that sometimes, obligation and spiritual life of own family is being left behind. Leaders needs to understand that without his family in Ministry, it will be hard to move and will later lead to “Burn Out“.
Our own family could be our co-workers in Christ or could be one of the greatest opposition in our Ministry. And I prefer the first.
As Leaders, if we feel we have too much burdens in our shoulder, give it all to God.
Let me remind Jethro’s advise to Moses
Exodus 18:17-23 Jethro advises Moses to delegate the job of settling disputes.
So Moses’ father-in-law said to him, “The thing that you do is not good. Both you and these people who are with you will surely wear yourselves out. For this thing is too much for you; you are not able to perform it by yourself. Listen now to my voice; I will give you counsel, and God will be with you: Stand before God for the people, so that you may bring the difficulties to God. And you shall teach them the statutes and the laws, and show them the way in which they must walk and the work they must do. Moreover you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens. And let them judge the people at all times. Then it will be that every great matter they shall bring to you, but every small matter they themselves shall judge. So it will be easier for you, for they will bear the burden with you. If you do this thing, and God so commands you, then you will be able to endure, and all this people will also go to their place in peace.”
Jethro knows that Moses might be wear out when He say “….. will surely wear yourselves out….”.
If you feel it is too heavy for you, learn to trust others and let God works in their life. No man is an Island.

Basically that’s one of the things most Christians tend to feel due to excessive work in the church or ministry. Although we might say “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” as stated in Phil. 4:13, well its true but we have to take God’s wisdom by making our obligations into order by making priorities. It just a matter of work and time management through the help of God and co-workers as well.
God bless bro. Keep it up!
